Nashotah House Theological Seminary is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (COAATS). While Nashotah House remains in compliance with the COAATS standards, the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) recently notified Nashotah House that the seminary was issued a warning as it is at risk of not having sufficient and stable financial resources to ensure that it will continue to meet Standard 10.3 on financial sustainability.  The Commission recognized in its evaluation that Nashotah House is making meaningful strides toward financial equilibrium, and the seminary continues to work toward achieving long-term stability. This warning does not affect the quality or validity of Nashotah House’s degrees or ability to offer accredited programs.

Statement of Educational Effectiveness

Nashotah House is committed to providing integrated student experiences based upon classical principles of academic and spiritual formation. Our curriculum is based upon the overall goal of developing in students “faithful character,” “faithful intellect,” and “faithful practice.” Using data that is gathered and analyzed annually related to student learning and program effectiveness, our goal-driven assessment process enables the seminary to continually improve in its ability to offer interrelated educational activities.

Student achievement is assessed in relation to the overall goal and program-specific outcomes for basic ministerial leadership, general theological study and advanced ministerial leadership. The quality of instruction and student satisfaction is assessed through course evaluation and an artifact-evidenced direct measure of program goals. Additionally, the seminary reviews ATS student survey (Entering Student Questionnaire and Graduating Student Questionnaire) results, campus survey results and engages students in focus group activity. Annual program assessment data and survey results are used to improve instruction, make adjustments to learning activities and enhance educational effectiveness.

In the 2015-16—2018-19 Graduate Student Questionnaire (GSQ), students describe their overall experience at Nashotah House.
