For students who have completed an MDiv or equivalent seminary degree, our summer and winter courses are structured to provide professional development through excellent instruction and collegial interaction. The Advanced Degree seminar-style courses are taught by Nashotah House faculty and visiting theological experts in the field. Depending on your academic and/or professional goals, we offer two degrees: Master of Sacred Theology (STM) and Doctor of Ministry (DMin).
For students who wish to advance their studies beyond the Master of Divinity (MDiv), the Master of Sacred Theology (STM) is a one-year graduate professional degree that allows students to focus on advanced competency in a particular concentration. This 24-credit program is designed to enable parish clergy and others to use a combination of continuing theological education time and retreat or vacation time in an experience that affords opportunity for study, daily worship, and reflection, as well as intense academic engagement.Learn More
A Nashotah House Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is a professional degree designed for those engaged in full-time, fruitful ministry who seek a deeper engagement with biblical, historical, and theological reflection with an eye toward direct and practical application in the lives of those under their spiritual care. Guided and supervised by resident and affiliate faculty, students are taught research methodology and guided in designing a study which creatively engages contemporary culture with spiritual principles, toward the goal of spiritual growth and enhanced ministry leadership for all engaged in the project. The DMin program normally requires four to six years to complete.Learn More
