The Master of Ministry is a first professional degree in ministerial leadership and is normally completed in under three calendar years. Designed to train those serving the church in lay and ordained ministries for which the MDiv is not deemed the required path of training, the MM requires students to be present on campus for a total of nine weeks throughout the duration of the 48-credit program.
The course of study melds pastoral and theological education with counseling and administrative concepts. Students build a solid foundation in Christian tradition, philosophy and theology, as well as sharpen translatable skills such as team development, conflict resolution, and pastoral caregiving skills that are essential for many Christian leadership roles. Graduates often pursue careers as pastors, church planters, youth ministers, chaplains, and counselors in colleges, hospitals, and nursing facilities. Students who receive a MM may also use it as a stepping stone to further their academic studies at the doctoral level.
Eligible candidates will possess a baccalaureate degree or the educational equivalent from an accredited institution, or meet the requirements for non-bachelor’s degree admission.
