Bio: 

The Rev. Shane Patrick Gormley is a Ph.D. Candidate in New Testament and early Christian studies at Loyola University Chicago and Priest-in-Charge at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Chicago, IL. His research focuses on the interpretive benefits of social-scientific criticism for understanding biblical texts and traditions, especially through the canonical Gospels and Catholic Epistles. His dissertation constructs a sociology of discipleship in the ancient Mediterranean and earliest Christianity, particularly through the perspective of 1 Peter.
