Master of Arts in Ministry ProgramAccredited Online Theological Education with a Formative Residential ComponentNashotah House has been piloting a Distance Learning program since July 2006. The Association of Theological Schools announced in June 2007 that it has fully approved Nashotah House’s Master of Ministry Degree (M.A. Min.) program. The curriculum is designed to prepare for ordained ministry and other positions of leadership in the Church those candidates who cannot relocate to a seminary for a residential theological education, or those students who would like to begin their seminary education from a remote location before ultimately transfering into the residential program. Degree Program Design: The eight modules are based on the seven subject areas specified for ordination preparation in the Episcopal Church Canons of the General Convention, Title III, Canon 8, Section 5, item (g)(2006). The eight modules are as follows:
Degree Program Accreditation: Effective June 2007, the M.A. in Ministry degree program has been formally approved by the Association of Theological Schools. Admissions Requirements: The M.A. in Ministry is a post-baccalaureate degree. Admissions requirements include a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution, evidence of the commitment and qualities desired for pastoral leadership and academic ability to engage in graduate study. Certain students who do not hold a baccalaureate degree may be admitted to the program. For applications and information about the degree program, email the Admissions Office. Registration for M.A. in Ministry Modules: Students may register for the M.A. in Ministry modules prior to or without acceptance into the degree program. Travel and Directions: Nashotah House is located about 30 miles west of Milwaukee near Interstate 94. Travel directions are available by mail or by clicking here. Mission Bookstore: A syllabus with booklist and reading assignments will be sent to you upon registration for each module. Students can contact The Mission Bookstore at (262) 646-6529 to place book orders. Housing: Housing accommodations on campus are limited and are available on a first come first served basis. Housing requests are taken at the time of registration for each module, so early registration for housing is recommended.
